DAY TWO – December 3, 2025

3:25 PM PRESENTATION: Beyond the Algorithm: Personalization that Connects

In a sea of sameness, banks are racing to differentiate through AI-driven personalization.

While it’s true that algorithms can optimize for clicks and conversions, they can be prone to miss the emotional nuance that builds trust and loyalty. And that’s what Flagstar Bank has going for it – trust and loyalty.

As a result, we see experiences, particularly in the online environment, that might appear efficient on the engineer’s dashboard, but are not human. And lacking the human dimension, these experiences fail – attrition, balances, ability to deepen and engage.

In this session, join Daniel Darst as he explores how banks can strike the right balance between data and empathy, automation and intention. You will learn how to move beyond transactional personalization and create engagement that is genuinely tailored.

• Balancing automation with human judgment to deliver experiences that feel personal, not programmed.

• Creating a testing framework grounded in your institution’s realities to unite data, CX, and technology teams around a cohesive personalization strategy.

• Deploying practical tactics and programs to support frontline staff with real-time, actionable insights that empower them to engage meaningfully—not just reactively.
